Investment Readiness Enterprise Assessment Diagnostic (IREAD)

Investment Readiness Enterprise Assessment Diagnostic (IREAD)

IREAD assesses an organisation's capacity to engage in social enterprise development and provides a skills baseline from which to build if the organisation seeks to draw investment.

The diagnostic tool is based on similar models developed in England both by DTNI’s sister organisation Locality and by the Big Lottery, which were designed to provide a profile for specific funding programmes to move organisations from grant dependency to more sustainable business models. IREAD aims to support organisations to think about their own sustainable development and has a particular pillar around assets, asset management, development and acquisition.

The IREAD tool assesses against the key pillars of governance, finance & financial planning, human resource management, social impact, business planning and asset management and development. Once completed, it produces a composite report cross-referencing all of the inputted information to give the organisation an outline of their skills competencies as well as areas that might require further development.

DTNI members have free access to the tool and licenses are also available at cost to non-members.
